Welcome to the KC4's Tenpin Bowling Club

The KC4's Ten Pin Bowling League plays at the Charrington Bowl in Tolworth, Surrey on Tuesdays starting at 7pm. The League has bowlers with a wide range of abilities, catering for both the serious bowlers and those that are new to the sport whilst combining competitive league bowling with a fun and social side.

Week 17.

Another bad week for most of the top 4 sees Saxons - the only winners from those - move back up to 2nd spot and close the gap on Spare Set to 4 points. The other big winners were Rum Bunch who beat Spare Set 6-2 and move ahead of Blind Ali into 4th. Saxons beat Late Again 6-2 in an extremely close contest, with each of the games coming down to the final bowler in the 10th frame. Neil Barron came up trumps in 2 games and Lee Davis in the other. Monacos beat Jokers Wild 6-2, Top Hats beat Blind Ali 6-2, Shadows beat Do'Nuts 7-1, a scoreline repeated by Cally's Heroes over MI-II.

Not a single 600 series to report this week - largely thanks to the ridiculous number of pocket 10pin leaves that there seemed to be this week. Marc Davis came closest with 583. There were a few high scratch games though, bowled by Roldan Acquino (225), Karl Elliott (223), Marc Davis (212 & 211), Scott Stiff (211), Sam Stiff (210), Stuart Evans (210), Carl Lavender (yes, really!) (209), Derek Flurry (205) and Bryan Buller (200).

High Handicap games were bowled by Vi Jackson & Peter Burns (246), Hasan Al-Ghusein (244 + 240) Susan Walters (244), Geoff Geraghty (240), John Cheshire (237 + 232), Susan Peek (237), Nick Peek (236), Sam Stiff (235), Ron Green (232), Derek Flurry (231) and Barbara Spragg (230).

Roldan stole a march on the inconsistency award, managing a whopping 104 pin difference after only 2 games which nobody else got near. Richard Lister was unlucky not to pick up the consistency award with just 5 pin variance, but Dave Holdaway was consistency personified with games of 166, 168, 168.

One person who you wont see on the gutter ball leader board is me. Even when trying to hit the gutter, it seems that the ball just has a mind of it's own and won't fall in.....

Karl.

NEWS

Gutter Problems??. We would recommend that you don't use the Karl Elliott gutter clearing or sweeping services.

If anyone tells you bowling is not a physical sport, I have positive proof they are WRONG. Some of you may have noticed I have been up at the bowl and rolled a few games. Have now got up to being able to roll 3 games but that is the limit at the moment for a week. Thats what 5 months of not bowling has done.

Hope to be back to bowling properly soon but need to build up strength and get the accuracy back for all 3 games (I would monopolise Mr Inconsistancy at the moment with 180+ games followed by one lets just say .... a lot lower).

Thanks to everyone for the support and interest in the recovery; it really has helped a lot.

Nick Peek 12/1/12

A start of loading the KC4 History to the web has been made - which can be viewed via the "Club History" selection tab. Our history goes back to the year dot ..... but there are some gaps and years where I have very little information about what was happening. Please have a read on what we know at the moment. Anyone that can help with more information or comments will be welcomed with open arms.

Peter Singfield is also introducing facilities to include photos; if anyone has any KC4 related photos, can we have a copy please?

New Bowlers? Are you looking to join a league?. There are a number of teams who would be very happy to get a new bowler (or two!). Come along on a Tuesday and ask for Karl Elliott, Nick Peek or Colin Woolley and we would be very happy to tell you more about our league and find you a team to bowl with.
