Week 17.
Another bad week for most of the top 4 sees Saxons - the only winners from those - move back up to 2nd spot and close the gap on Spare Set to 4 points. The other big winners were Rum Bunch who beat Spare Set 6-2 and move ahead of Blind Ali into 4th. Saxons beat Late Again 6-2 in an extremely close contest, with each of the games coming down to the final bowler in the 10th frame. Neil Barron came up trumps in 2 games and Lee Davis in the other. Monacos beat Jokers Wild 6-2, Top Hats beat Blind Ali 6-2, Shadows beat Do'Nuts 7-1, a scoreline repeated by Cally's Heroes over MI-II.
Not a single 600 series to report this week - largely thanks to the ridiculous number of pocket 10pin leaves that there seemed to be this week. Marc Davis came closest with 583. There were a few high scratch games though, bowled by Roldan Acquino (225), Karl Elliott (223), Marc Davis (212 & 211), Scott Stiff (211), Sam Stiff (210), Stuart Evans (210), Carl Lavender (yes, really!) (209), Derek Flurry (205) and Bryan Buller (200).
High Handicap games were bowled by Vi Jackson & Peter Burns (246), Hasan Al-Ghusein (244 + 240) Susan Walters (244), Geoff Geraghty (240), John Cheshire (237 + 232), Susan Peek (237), Nick Peek (236), Sam Stiff (235), Ron Green (232), Derek Flurry (231) and Barbara Spragg (230).
Roldan stole a march on the inconsistency award, managing a whopping 104 pin difference after only 2 games which nobody else got near. Richard Lister was unlucky not to pick up the consistency award with just 5 pin variance, but Dave Holdaway was consistency personified with games of 166, 168, 168.
One person who you wont see on the gutter ball leader board is me. Even when trying to hit the gutter, it seems that the ball just has a mind of it's own and won't fall in.....
Karl.
